STREETLIGHTS
NOTES / ANALYSIS
EXQUISITE CADAVER
Exquisite cadaver is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed.
This game was invented in the 1920`s by the surrealists. The principal founder was the poet André Breton. The goal of this game was the collective creation. The results were unique art pieces. From poems, to paintings, to music...etc.

I related streetlights to exquisite cadavers because of it's composition. Each part of it is designed, modified and transformed by different people. The bottom part by citizens and cleaning workers, upper part by technicians and electricians. As a result all these streetlights end up looking different although they are equal. It's image is the result of a collective group with different interests.
NON-FORMAL REACTION
I took a newspaper article that talked about the situation of the Parque Móvil. Once again, its reordering will be reconsider due to its inclusion in a new Plan that has to do with the use of Real estate and the State's heritage. As a result of the exquisite cadaver and the first exercise where I mix two different things to create a new ironic meaning. I took out words from the article and filled them out with words from the Canal citizens. Two different things related by it's location. By doing this I get a non-sense text just like the non-sense of the actual situation of the Parque Móvil.
